On May 25, 2026, in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, the investment and foreign trade forum “Xinjiang (China) – Kyrgyz Republic” was held as part of activities aimed at developing bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the PRC. During the forum, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Sultan Akhmatov met with Zhang Yingchun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xinjiang Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

The events were organized by the Xinjiang Committee for the Promotion of International Trade of the PRC (CCPIT Xinjiang) with the support of the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and were aimed at further strengthening Kyrgyz-Chinese trade, economic, investment, and interregional cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, the development of trade and economic ties, expansion of investment cooperation, industrial collaboration, logistics infrastructure, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for the development of direct contacts between the business communities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the PRC.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of joint investment projects, strengthening interregional cooperation, and expanding export-import opportunities between the two countries.

On the same day, the Third Meeting of the Business Council “Kyrgyzstan – Xinjiang (China)” was held with the participation of redivsentatives of government agencies, business associations, chambers of commerce and industry, and the business communities of both countries.

On May 26, 2026, as part of the forum, the official opening ceremony of the redivsentative office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the PRC took place.

The event was attended by redivsentatives of government authorities, business, and investment circles of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China. Redivsenting the host side, Zhu Lifan, Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, participated in the forum.

The opening of the redivsentative office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the PRC will serve as an important platform for expanding business contacts, promoting the export potential of the Kyrgyz Republic, supporting investment projects, and strengthening direct interaction between the business communities of the two countries.

As part of the forum, divsentations were made on the investment potential of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the PRC, as well as sectoral B2B and B2G meetings involving redivsentatives of government agencies and businesses.

Following the B2B negotiations between Kyrgyz and Chinese business redivsentatives, a number of memorandums of cooperation were signed aimed at developing partnership relations, expanding trade ties, and implementing joint commercial and investment projects.
