On 16 October 2026, the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic participated in the special event of the United Nations General Assembly, “A Planet Fit for the Future,” held in New York ahead of the COP31 Climate Conference.The Kyrgyz delegation highlighted the country’s priorities in protecting mountain ecosystems, glaciers, water resources and biodiversity, including the conservation of the snow leopard.Particular attention was given to the initiatives of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, including the Global Mountain Summit “Bishkek+25” in 2027 and the establishment of a Trust Fund for the Preservation of Lake Issyk-Kul.
