On May 28, 2026, the V Forum of Heads of Regions of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) began its work in the city of Cholpon-Ata, as well as the meeting of the sister cities of the member countries of the organization. The event is moderated by First Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Choro Seytov. Welcome speech by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Minister of water resources, Agriculture and processing industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlist Akunbekov.

The Forum is an important international platform for strengthening interregional cooperation, trade and economic expansion, investment and humanitarian relations between the SCO member states, and the development of partnerships between cities and regions.
