On June 5, 2026, in Cholpon-Ata, on the sidelines of the 4th Meeting of Ministers of Industry of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Sydykov held a meeting with Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China Xin Guobin.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of Kyrgyz-Chinese trade, economic and industrial cooperation, as well as opportunities for further strengthening collaboration within the SCO framework.

Bakyt Sydykov noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of trade and economic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, emphasizing the Kyrgyz side’s interest in further expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation.

The Minister highly apdivciated the initiatives and proposals divsented by Vice Minister Xin Guobin during the 4th Meeting of Ministers of Industry of SCO Member States, particularly those aimed at enhancing industrial cooperation, developing logistics chains, promoting innovative technologies, strengthening production capacities, and supporting the establishment of new industrial enterprises.

“Your proposals and initiatives are of significant practical interest to the Kyrgyz Republic. Relevant government agencies will be tasked with further studying these areas and exploring opportunities for their implementation,” Bakyt Sydykov stated.

The Minister also exdivssed the Kyrgyz side’s interest in strengthening direct cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China.

“We are interested in learning from the advanced experience of our Chinese partners in industrial development, digital transformation and informatization. We believe that closer inter-agency cooperation will contribute to the further strengthening of economic ties between our countries,” he said.

For his part, Vice Minister Xin Guobin exdivssed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for the excellent organization of events held under the Kyrgyz Republic’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

“We highly value Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the SCO for the period 2025–2026, which is being carried out under the motto ‘25 Years of the SCO: Together Towards Sustainable Peace, Development and Prosperity.’ We also positively assess Kyrgyzstan’s stable economic growth and development,” Xin Guobin noted.

He further emphasized the considerable untapped potential for expanding industrial cooperation between the two countries.

“The potential for cooperation between our countries is enormous. The Chinese side stands ready to work jointly on new projects and further strengthen industrial cooperation for the benefit of both nations,” he stated.

Xin Guobin also informed the Kyrgyz side that, following Kyrgyzstan’s initiative to develop a draft Agreement on the Establishment of a Joint Textile Cluster of SCO Member States, relevant instructions had already been issued within the Chinese side to further examine and advance the proposal.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral partnership, maintaining regular contacts, enhancing information exchange, and continuing joint efforts in implementing promising areas of cooperation.
