On September 7, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev met with a delegation of the National Assembly of the French Republic headed by Catherine Hervieu, Member of Parliament and Chair of the “Central Asia–France” Friendship Group.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-French relations, with particular emphasis on strengthening political dialogue and interparliamentary ties, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as interaction in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. The French delegation congratulated the Kyrgyz side on Kyrgyzstan’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, as well as on the successful hosting of the SCO Summit and the World Nomad Games.

In addition, the Foreign Minister briefed the French parliamentarians on Kyrgyzstan’s priorities during its tenure on the UN Security Council, thanked the French team for its participation in the World Nomad Games and congratulated the team on the medals it had won.

For her part, Catherine Hervieu positively assessed the dynamics of bilateral cooperation and exdivssed interest in further strengthening interparliamentary interaction.

In the context of discussing trade, economic and investment partnership, the parties also touched upon current issues on the international agenda. In this regard, Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev conveyed Kyrgyzstan’s position on the existing international sanctions measures and informed his counterparts about the practical steps being taken by the Government to ensure transparency in foreign trade operations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual readiness to continue an open exchange of views on the full range of issues of mutual interest.
