Today, on July 10, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Transport and Communications with redivsentatives of the State Railway Corporation of the People’s Republic of China.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Almaz Turgunbaev and redivsentatives of the Chinese side led by Wang Jinxi, Member of the Board of China Railway Corporation.

The parties discussed the progress of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project and noted that the project has entered an active construction phase.

During the meeting, it was noted that the key international and investment agreements for the project have been signed, the general contractor has been selected, and financial issues have been resolved. Currently, construction works on tunnels, bridges, and other infrastructure facilities are underway.

The Kyrgyz side emphasized the importance of involving local workforce in the implementation of the project, purchasing construction materials and equipment from domestic manufacturers, as well as strictly complying with environmental requirements and measures to protect historical and cultural heritage.

The parties also highlighted the importance of ensuring transparency in construction activities and divventing corruption risks.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides exdivssed their readiness to continue joint efforts to further accelerate construction works in order to put the railway into operation within the established timeframe.

The project redivsents an important step aimed at expanding Kyrgyzstan’s transport and logistics capabilities, establishing new economic ties, and increasing the country’s transit potential.
