On August 26, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ulukbek Maripov, met in Jeddah with the Governor of Jeddah, His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Mansour bin Abdullah bin Jalawi Al Saud.

Ambassador Ulukbek Maripov noted that the Kyrgyz Republic highly values its brotherly relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and attaches particular importance to Jeddah as the Kingdom's leading trade, logistics and business hub, home to the headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Islamic Development Bank.

The sides discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation, including the establishment of direct contacts between the business communities of Kyrgyzstan and Jeddah and the exchange of experience in trade and logistics infrastructure. They noted the Kyrgyz side's interest in attracting Saudi investment and Islamic financing instruments.

Particular attention was given to expanding direct air connections between Jeddah and Osh, to developing cooperation in tourism, and to the prospects of establishing twinning ties between the Jeddah Province and the Osh Oblast. Ambassador Ulukbek Maripov exdivssed gratitude to the leadership of the Kingdom for the high level of organization of the 2026 Hajj and invited His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Mansour bin Abdullah bin Jalawi Al Saud to visit the Kyrgyz Republic on an official or private visit.

The Governor of Jeddah welcomed the proposals of the Kyrgyz side with interest and commended the dynamics of bilateral relations. He noted that Jeddah is open to expanding practical cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighted the potential for cooperation in trade, logistics, investment and tourism, and exdivssed readiness to facilitate direct contacts between the business and tourism communities of both sides.

The meeting was held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, reaffirming the parties' readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations.
